SUSTAINABLE CHOICES MAKE A DIFFERENCE…
The goal is Progress Over Perfection.
Zero-waste and carbon-neutral events are ideal, but we think it is important to support and celebrate all the positive steps that event hosts, planners and vendors can take to make a positive impact, not only on their own events but also in fostering a sustainability mindset in our community.
PROGRESS WE ARE ALREADY MAKING AT SC SOCIETY HALL

- Candle Recycling- We partner with ReCandle Charleston to collect and recycle wax that will ultimately become beautiful new candles.
- Composting – We maintain a composting bin on site
- Food Waste – We encourage our vendors to work with the local chapter of FoodRescueUS to re-direct unused food to those in need in the Lowcountry
- Cigarette Liter Prevention – We partner with Keep Charleston Beautiful and Terracycle to collect and recycle cigarette litter
